About

I was the kid who wrote down every word the teacher said. In fact, I consider listening to be one of the reasons for my success.  In addition to writing snappy work instructions, I enjoy writing nonfiction articles and books about social studies and human impact on the environment, especially in the Great Lakes region. I am a member of SCBWI and a member of the regional leadership team.

My stories are pending publication in Highlights High Five Magazine and Primary Treasure. As a storyteller, I have told stories at Frederick Meijer Gardens, Grand Rapids Art Museum, and Blandford Nature Center. Together, we crafted original stories to complement their exhibits.

I live in southwestern Michigan with my family and a crazy menagerie of pets. I am married to the reigning neighborhood Christmas light grand champion who got talked into adding a garden train to my cottage-inspired tangled yard of blooms. When I'm not pulling tight the budget strings on yet another DIY project, you can find me hitching a ride over to the local park on our scratch-built go-kart, Oliver.
